西瓜影视;Verne Master of Public Administration Among U.S. News & World Report鈥檚 Top-Ranked Programs
The 西瓜影视;Verne鈥檚 Master鈥檚 of Public Administration program is among the top programs of its type, according to the 2021 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings.听
The university鈥檚 public administration program is ranked in the top five of programs in the greater Los Angeles region, and it rose eight places this year to 101st out of 276 graduate programs across the nation.
The rankings are based on peer assessment surveys by deans, directors, and academic chairs from master鈥檚 programs in public affairs and administration.
The university has both a master鈥檚 and doctoral program in public administration. Graduates go on to use their skills at nonprofit organizations and working in local, state, and federal government, among others.
Students who enroll in the 西瓜影视;Verne program are looking for several things, said Marcia Godwin, professor of public administration and director of the Master鈥檚 of Public Administration program.
Students 鈥渁re really looking for a personalized, high-value program,鈥� she said.
They are also looking for tools that will help them make an impact.
Students are 鈥渓ooking for a deeper understanding of how they can improve outcomes in their communities,鈥� she said.
By the time they complete their education, students have developed an expertise in explaining complex material in a way that is understandable by members of the public, a critical point when seeking to have transparency in government and other areas. Graduates also understand the importance of ethics, one of the 西瓜影视;Verne鈥檚 core values.
Students build connections with classmates, Godwin said. They work closely with advisors, take part in an academic competition that tests their skills, and interact with professionals in their field.
