Year-in-Review: Another Look at 西瓜影视;Verne 2021 Highlights

The 西瓜影视;Verne has had much to celebrate in 2021. As a new year approaches, let鈥檚 take another look at some highlights of 2021:

• January: The Master of Business Administration for Experienced Professionals (MBAX) program will now be more flexible for experienced working professionals and faster to complete.
• February: Kerop Janoyan, PhD, became the university’s provost and vice president for academic affairs.
• March: Prominent real estate executive and philanthropist made a gift of $2 million to establish the new Randall Lewis Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Social Impact.
• May: Plans are underway to organize a College of Health and Community Well-Being as the fifth college of the 西瓜影视;Verne.
• June: Graduates of spring 2020 and winter and spring 2021 celebrated in-person commencement ceremonies at San Manuel Stadium in San Bernardino.
• July: Emmeline de Pillis became the new dean of the College of Business and Public Management. She joined the university on July 12, replacing Abe Helou, who had served as dean since 2008.
• August: As in-person classes resumed, students studying chemistry and physics on the 西瓜影视;Verne鈥檚 central campus got to learn in state-of-the-art, newly renovated labs.
• September: The university was selected to receive a Hispanic-Serving Institutions STEM Program grant by the U.S. Department of Education. The grant is in the amount of $999,901 for the first yearly budget period, which began on October 1.
• September: The 西瓜影视;Verne was again top ranked among private universities in California and seventh among all national universities for social mobility of students, according to U.S. News & World Report鈥檚 2022 Best Colleges rankings, released September 13.
• October: The inaugural cohort of the Master of Science in Athletic Training program achieved a first-time pass rate of 89 percent on the Board of Certification Exam, exceeding the national average.
• October: President Devorah Lieberman 聽was named CEO/President of the Year by the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership.聽
• November: Students who are first in their family to attend college were honored at the 西瓜影视;Verne during the month of November. More than 42% of students at the university are 鈥渇irst-gen.鈥�
• December: The second cohort of graduates in the 西瓜影视;Verne鈥檚 Master of Science in Physician Assistant Practice program celebrated their accomplishments in a commencement ceremony held in the Ann and Steve Morgan Auditorium on campus on December 4.
